Personal
The stuff that doesn't fit on a resume.
Back in High School
- —As President of the Emirates Debate Society I helped train more than ten thousand students in debate, law, and economics, and we reached the finals of an international competition as the only high school team in the bracket, going up against university teams from LSE and Harvard. I also spent some time on the U.A.E. National Debate Team's development squad.
- —Received around $123K in scholarships across UBC and high school awards.
- —Won a few national and international Model UN competitions over the years, then helped run a few conferences. We organized four-plus events, including a couple that drew more than eight hundred attendees.
- —Captained varsity water polo and podiumed at a handful of local tournaments.
- —Co-organized the U.A.E.'s first chapter of the International Philosophy Olympiad.
Now
- —I volunteer when I can. Quarterly blood donations with Canadian Blood Services and registered as a stem cell donor. When I'm in Vancouver over the summers I help the Disability Foundation with hikes, treks, and community gardens at physical rehabilitation centres.
- —I watch a lot of MMA and took a few Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai classes out of interest.
- —Board and card games, and strategy games. Hearthstone, Catan, Civ 6, etc.
- —Studied economics at UBC and took some courses on the side in comp sci, stats, math, and philosophy. I like learning new things.
- —Recently started playing Padel Ball (I'm terrible at it, but it's really fun!).
Goals for 2026
- —Get Elixir to twenty-plus happy customers whose businesses we've genuinely improved.
- —Run a sub-30 minute 5K.
- —Read five new books and actually finish them.
