Elixir
What we're building
Elixir is an ERP for manufacturers and distributors. It's the system a business runs on day to day: purchase orders, inventory, finance, customers, vendors, the lot.
The bigger idea behind it is what most people miss when they hear the word ERP. They think finance and accounting. We think it should be the operating system the entire business runs on, including all the operational work that incumbents have always treated as a second-class citizen.
Rethinking what an ERP is for
Production planning, inventory, fulfillment, vendor management, and the rest of the operational side deserve the same care and depth that finance has always gotten. That's where most of the actual work in these businesses happens.
With AI, a huge amount of the manual data entry and menial repetition that operators currently grind through every day can be handled by the software itself. The goal is to take that off their plate so they spend their time on the judgment calls that actually move the business forward.
When the whole company sits on a single system of record, managers, employees, and AI agents all see the same picture in real time. Less friction across teams, fewer surprises, and far better insight into what's actually happening at any given moment.
Why now
Two years on the customer side of ERP implementations made the gap pretty obvious. The incumbents were built before LLMs existed, so the architecture never accounted for them. The newer entrants treat AI as a feature they bolt on at the edges.
There's room for a team that starts from the workflows operators actually run and builds applied AI into them from the ground up.
What we've shipped so far
Four customers in production. PO parsing, automated data input, a CRM that connects directly into NetSuite, and custom integrations and UIs across each customer's stack. Real workflows with real money moving through them.
Where it's going
Today we're an applied AI team doing bespoke implementations. Over the next eight months we're turning that into a product: an AI-native ERP that automates end-to-end across procurement, operations, sales, and finance.
The day-to-day worker spends their time on judgment calls they actually enjoy making. The business leader gets always-on visibility instead of waiting for Monday's report.
The team
I'm building Elixir with some of my closest friends, people I've known since the second grade. Between us:
- →Engineering experience from TikTok.
- →AI research at some of the biggest institutions in the world.
- →Currently building AI agents at a Palantir-backed startup.
- →A few startups shipped between us.
- →A software agency one of us built and scaled to more than twenty enterprise customers.
- →Two years on the buy-side watching ERP vendors fail businesses I cared about.
We've stayed close for fifteen-plus years for a reason, and that's the part that's hard to fake when things get hard.
